Welcome to Croatia!

We’ll start our journey at Dubrovnik, a city which George Bernard Shaw called ‘Paradise on Earth’ and which Game of Thrones fans will recognize as the real-life King’s Landing.

Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in a private coach. Check-in and unwind.

In the evening, meet your new crew and together, we’ll head to the Konova Dubranova, a Dalmatian restaurant where we’ll have our first authentic Croatian dinner!

Enjoy feasting on squid risotto, turkey and other traditional food as you listen to the beautiful tunes played on the Lijerica (a Croatian bowstring instrument that is similar to Violins and Fiddle) and watch Croatian dancers perform. Tonight’s festive mood is perfect for getting to know your new travel mates and tour leader better. After dinner, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll set out for a lovely morning tour of Dubrovnik. With cobblestone streets, marble pavements, arguably the finest medieval city walls in the world, and cafes and little shops tucked in every nook and corner, it’s very easy-on-the-eyes as well as an
explorer’s delight.

Accompanied by an expert guide, walk through the Old Town, for a glimpse into the history and culture of the city.

On our route: the huge domed Onofrio’s Fountain and the Sponza Palace which  boasts graceful frescoes and an elaborate altar. We’ll also stop by the Franciscan Monastery which houses a cloister, a library and Europe’s oldest pharmacy where you can take a look at old doctors’ notes, ceramic medicine jars, and potions from the 15th century.

Lastly, we’ll explore the Cathedral of the Assumption of The Virgin. Its famous Treasury contains such a large collection of riches -icons, paintings (Titian's polyptych The Assumption hangs behind the main altar) and intricately made gold and silver reliquaries, some set with jewels or decorated with reliefs.

Afterwards, proceed to the city’s monumental walls, that had fortified and protected the Old Town against sieges during the Middle Ages. Take a relaxing walk along the length of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, as you gaze at the blue sea and the patchworks of stones and red roofs of houses in the Old Town.

After lunch, head to Split, Croatia’s second-largest city, to catch your ferry to Hvar (the ferry departs at 20:30 hours). Upon arrival at the Hvar port, you’ll be transferred to your hotel to stay overnight.
This morning, we’ll set out to explore Hvar, one of the biggest hotspots on the Mediterranean for the rich and famous. Everyone from Bill Gates to Napoleon, Prince Harry to Brad Pitt,  no less than three James Bonds (Sean Connery, Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan), Ellen DeGeneres as well as Beyonce & Jay-Z all chose to holiday here — and once you spend some time here, you’ll understand why.

With a picturesque Venetian port, traffic-free marble streets, medieval towers, and a beautiful central piazza, Hvar is old-world charm at its finest.

We’ll start our tour at the city centre, making our way past museums, palaces and 17th century theatres.

Places that we may visit along the way include: The Franciscan Monastery, a 15th century building set against the backdrop of the sea.  This monastery is famous for its collection of paintings, including Ingoli’s ‘Last Supper’. We’ll also get to see the Arsenal- a 13th century building that once served as a repair and refitting station for war galleons. You can walk up the stairs to the terrace, to enjoy scenic views over Hvar’s harbour.

Lunch will be on your own at one of the local restaurants and after that, you’ll be free for the rest of the evening to explore the island.

Optional : Half-day boat excursion to Paklinski islands (including picnic lunch)-INR 3300/person plus service tax (the cost is based on a minimum of 10 people traveling together)

The Paklinski Islands are a chain of 20 islets made of limestone, located off the coast of Hvar.
This group of islets, that stretches for 10 kms, has a myriad of secluded bays with crystal clear water, plenty of bathing places and hidden caves. Spend a half day in the serenity of these hidden caves, swim in the clear blue sea and relax as you bask under the sun.

We’ll picnic at one of the Island’s bays. In the evening, you’ll be free to explore the Hvar town and have dinner.

After breakfast, you’ll have some free time this morning.

Optional:  Half day excursion to the Island of Vis and Blue Cave in Bisevo including a picnic lunch-INR 6300/person plus service tax (the cost is based on minimum of 10 people traveling together).

Get ready for a magical experience as we explore the Blue Cave in the Island of Bisevo. During midday, this small sea cave is illuminated by sunlight, giving it a surreal blue glow. It is incredible that natural light entering into a cave can give rise to such a beautiful spectacle.

We’ll continue towards the Island of Vis and then head to Komiža, a coastal fishing town where we’ll dock and have lunch on board the ship.

Later: You’ll have free time to explore the town, swim in the sea or walk along the quiet, pebble beaches of Komiža.

Then: we’ll check out from our hotel and then be transferred to the Port of Split. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred from the port to your hotel.
Today, get your bearings on a half day walking tour of Split.

Accompanied by a local, English-speaking guide, we’ll visit the enormous Diocletian's Palace, built by the Emperor as the ultimate retirement home, where he could relax and grow cabbages. This palace also served as the site for filming parts of the TV series Game of Thrones. It’s one of the most impressive Roman ruins in the world and today, it’s still inhabited with residents living in the quarters where Diocletian's soldiers once lived.

Then: a highlight. You’ll take a private tour of the Ivan Mestrović Gallery. Mestrović was a Croatian prodigy and his ability to coax beauty and emotive drama from stone made him a sensation around the world. You’ll have the opportunity to see his talent up close as you walk through the gallery and admire 86 bronze, marble and wood sculptures created by him.

Lunch will be on your own. Enjoy the view of the sea while eating at a local restaurant.

Then: you’ll have free time to explore the city on your own, and have dinner.

Optional: Half day Biking tour through the Split bays, beaches and harbors, Diocletian palace and Marjan Hill -INR 3000/Person plus service tax (the cost is based on minimum of 10 people traveling together).

Get ready for an exciting bike ride through the city of Split. Discover the culture and scenic landscapes of this city, as you cycle through the narrow streets of the Old Town. Head to the Marjan Hills (this is something that you shouldn’t miss out on). You’ll cycle through beautiful, pine-tree boulevards that give sweeping views of the Adriatic sea.

Upon reaching the top of the hill, head east until you reach the “vidilice”- a lookout point that gives an unforgettable view of the town and the sea.
After having breakfast,  we’ll check-out from our hotel and head to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Plitvice Lakes National Park.

With green forests surrounding 16 lakes with distinctive hues of turquoise and blue, which are, in turn, linked by a series of some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, this is the closest to the Garden of Eden you’ll get. Walk on a pathway of wooden planks as you make your way through the park. These stretch out over the lakes and wind by the waterfalls, ensuring that there’s a stunning view no matter where you look. This is truly  a photographer’s paradise, so keep your trigger-finger at the ready.

Post this guided tour, we’ll have lunch at the Licka Kuca, a restaurant that provides the ambience of a traditional Croatian house. Then, we’ll hit the road to travel to our next destination - Zagreb. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. You’ll be free for the rest of the evening.

Recommended: Visit The Museum of Broken Relationships for an unusual but unique experience. Here, you’ll find displays of items donated by heartbroken lovers from all over the world. ’ The items range from the unusual (a pair of wooden hands from a mannequin) to the poignant (a fake watermelon) and come with notes explaining their significance. You can also buy broken-relationship stationery, including a pencil saying ‘Snap Here In Anger’, and a rubber bearing the words ‘Bad Memories Eraser’ – good for all situations.

Begin the day with a relaxed breakfast. Then, embark on a half-day city tour of Zagreb with a local guide.

En route: a highlight – we’ll pass through the Stone Gate (Kamenita Vrata) - an iconic monument that marks the eastern entrance to the charming Upper Town. Here, you’ll visit St. Mark’s Church, one of the oldest buildings in the city, and easily recognizable by its colorful roof that looks like an elaborate Lego construction, and stop by St. Catherine’s church, famed for its rich Baroque decorations and intricate pink wall paintings.

Next: the Dolac open-air market, where you’ll see farmers from all over Croatia sell their produce - cheese, flowers, freshly-made bread, cured meats, nuts, honey,  and all sorts of other homemade goodies - under a sea of bright red umbrellas, and locals shopping for their groceries.

We’ll also visit the charming Ban Jelačić square, a popular meeting place for thousands of locals.

Lunch: at a local restaurant (on your own) . If ‘You can never have too much strukli’ isn’t already a local Croatian saying, it should be.

In the afternoon: ‘me time’ to explore parts of the city that you’ve always dreamt about visiting such as the Mirogoj cemetery; with green avenues, beautiful sculptures, and elaborately carved marble tombstones, it is certainly the grandest cemetery you’ll ever see.

In the evening: we’ll treat you to a grand farewell dinner at the Konoba Didov San. Expect great Mediterranean food and excellent wine and be sure to revel with your new-found group of friends.
As unfair as it sounds, all good things must come to an end. You’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
