Welcome to Jordan!

You will be met on arrival
at the Queen Alia International Airport by our local representative who will assist you with immigration and then drive you in a private coach to your hotel at the Dead Sea. Please note that arrival and departure transfers will be as per the suggested flight schedules. In the event that you arrive or depart at a time other than the recommended group arrival and departure time, a private transfer and visa assistance can be arranged at an additional cost.

Upon arrival, you are free for the rest of the day.

Known for being a destination for relaxation and medical therapy, the sea’s natural mud is believed to be filled with beneficial nutrients, so be sure to smother some on. Then wash it off by floating in the gently lapping waters of the Dead Sea. Alternately, you can relax in the swimming pool of the hotel or treat yourself to a soothing massage.
This morning, we’ll drive to Petra, stopping en route at Madaba and Mt. Nebo.

In Madaba, the ‘City of Mosaics’, you’ll find the oldest known mosaic map of the holy land in St George's Church. Not only does it carefully record every holy site in its time, from Egypt to Lebanon, but it does it in incredible detail; if you look closely, you will be able to see intricate details like fish swimming in the Jordan River and Palestine’s city walls.

And at Mount Nebo, where, according to the Bible, Moses stood and looked out at the Holy Land, you too can stand and see, as he did, the sweeping vista of the Jordan River valley, the Dead Sea, Jericho and a glimpse of Jerusalem’s spires and rooftops in the far distance.

Lunch (on your own) will be at a local restaurant on the way.

At Petra:
check-in and relax. We’ll have dinner at the hotel and then, see Petra by night, a truly magical experience. Walk through the Siq, following a candle lit path in silence (talking and phones are banned), until you reach the colossal facade of the Khazneh, bathed in the light of thousands of little candles. Trust us, this is an experience that will burn bright in your mind, and linger for a lifetime.

*Petra by night operates only on Monday/Wednesday & Thursday so the itinerary will be changed accordingly.
After breakfast at the hotel, which could include fatayer jebneh (cheese pastries) and a cup of fresh mint tea, it’s time to head out for some exploration, Indiana Jones style. You will spend the entire day exploring Petra, Jordan’s most famous attraction, described as the “rose-red city half as old as time.”

Entering on horseback through a deep and twisting gorge of red sandstone, suddenly you will see it – Petra’s oldest ruin, the Treasury, made famous in ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ towering above you.

Wander about this ancient city carved out of the solid rock of a pink mountain and discover elaborate rock-hewn Nabatean tombs and the Roman streets dotted with temples, staircases, buildings and other monuments cut with a refinement that's hard to believe. How were they created? Ask your guide for details.

Recommended: climb 800 rock-cut steps to the Monastery Al Deir for one of the best views of Petra. Trust us, it’s worth every step, and there’s a cafe conveniently located at the top where you can catch your breath and have a cup of tea before the climb down.

We’ll head back to the hotel afterwards.
This morning, we’re driving straight to Wadi Rum!

“Vast, echoing and God-like” are the words Lawrence of Arabia used to describe Wadi Rum, and as we head out on a 2 hour jeep safari into the dramatic desert wilderness, you’ll see why. Few places have the power to astonish you quite like Wadi Rum, where the lunar-like landscape (Wadi Rum is also known as the Valley of the Moon), huge sandstone mountains and glittering red sands conspire to render you speechless.

En route, we’ll visit Lawrence’s spring
where Lawrence of Arabia reputedly watered his camel before his famous attack on Aqaba, as well as the mountain of Khazali where ancient Talmudic and Nabatean inscriptions of camels, mountain goats, people - and more modern counterparts along the lines of “Jordan for the Cup” and “Amjad loves Fatima” can be seen etched into the rock.

After the safari, unwind at the beautiful Sun City camp. You’ll stay here for the night.

For dinner, feast on ‘zarb’ - a whole lamb cooked in a traditional pit, mezza, salads and a wide selection of freshly baked bread. Then, lounge on carpets and sip rich cardamom-flavoured coffee and look upwards for a sight you’ve probably never seen before: the brilliant lights of the Milky Way spread out across a pitch-black night sky, all around you.
Those fond of sunrises can wake up early to see the dawn break over the desert, the breaking light makes a painter’s palette of the landscape, dappling the mountains and the sands reds, oranges, pinks and peach.

Optional Activity:
Hot Air Balloon Ride in Wadi Rum. An hour's long drive will get you to the balloon site, where you can climb into the basket and drift slowly skywards; the breaking light makes a painter’s palette of the sky, dappling it in reds, oranges, pinks and peach. Then, glide slowly over this spectacular landscape, taking in the unforgettable view of the vast red sands; it'll feel like you're an astronaut flying over Mars.

Please note that this is an optional activity at a cost of INR 16500 per person approx. There has to be a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 8 people in one balloon. This activity is subject to cancellation based on weather conditions.

Then, pull on your sneakers and get ready for one of your most exciting adventures in Jordan. This morning, we’ll be hiking through Wadi Bin Hammad, one of Jordan's most beautiful canyons and one of the country’s undiscovered gems.

Together, we’ll walk through warm ankle-deep water, following the trail alongside the stream. With hanging gardens, beautiful colored rock formations, wild palm trees, and the stream that sometimes falls in little cascades from the cliffs, it’s a truly enjoyable experience.

Then:
we’ll drive to Amman. Lunch (on your own) will be at a local restaurant on the way.

At Amman: check-in and relax. We’ll have dinner at a local restaurant.
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll set out on a city tour of Amman, including a stop by the Roman amphitheater which has 6000 seats. Then, we will hit the streets and immerse ourselves in the sounds, sights, smells and sensations of the chaotic and vibrant marketplace of Downtown Amman; it truly is a one of a kind experience.

The rest of your day is free for some ‘me time’ and shopping.

In the evening: we’ll end our adventure in Jordan on a high note. We'll enjoy a farewell
dinner in the home of a local family.
Enjoy your last breakfast at the hotel with your friends, before you drive to the international airport in Amman to board your flight back home.
