Julley! Your Himalayan adventure begins even as you board your early-morning flight, as the journey itself, over the crest of the mountains is spectacular, with incredible views of Leh as we land!

You'll be met at the airport  by our local representative and transferred via private cabs to your hotel. Leh is a high-altitude place, so spend most of the day resting in your hotel and acclimatizing.

Later: If you feel okay, take a small walk around the local market and shop. There are lots of little, hand made items you can bargain for.

Dinner will be at the hotel.
Today, after an early cup of tea or coffee, we’ll drive to the Thiksey Monastery, which houses an immense 40 foot statue of the blue-haired Maitreya (future) Buddha. As we arrive, you will watch as monks and novices chant in the assembly hall, reciting prayers during the Morning Prayer ceremony.

You will be guided around the monastery followed with a breakfast at the Thiksey monastery restaurant. Don’t forget to climb the steps to the rooftop for a view of the surrounding countryside.

Post breakfast, we’ll drive a little past the monastery and halt on the banks of the Indus River. Then: visit the Hemis Monastery, one of the largest and most important Buddhist monasteries.
Up-next: Shey Monastery. The star attraction here is the 12 meter Shakyamuni Buddha statue crafted in gold-plated copper, which covers 3 floors and is said to be the second largest in the region.

Later in the afternoon: we’ll visit the Druk White Lotus School, founded under the patronage of the Dalai Lama. The school follows a structure that celebrates traditional Tibetan values, and was featured in the film 3 Idiots. We will walk inside the campus with a guide and visit different parts of the school (Note: please refrain from photographing or disturbing the students during the school hours).

In the evening: a drive to the Shanti Stupa to watch the sunset.
Grab an early breakfast and set off on what promises to be a super adventurous day! We'll be visiting the stunning Nubra Valley. A few hours north of Leh, visiting Nubra involves crossing the Khardung La pass, the highest motorable pass in the world at 18,390 feet. This will be your first stop. Spend some time stretching your legs, posing in front of the board that proclaims that fact and buying souvenirs from the gift shop.

Then: head to your hotel sight, check-in, relax over lunch and tea and get ready for a safari like you've never experienced before! That's right, the famous Bactrian Camel safari. These double humped camels are very rare and the Nubra valley is the only place in India where you can find them. Grab tight as the camel and its handler show you the beautiful landscape dotted with small valleys blooming with summer flowers.

We’ll have dinner at the camp.
We will start the day driving to the Turtuk village, which is the last village on the border of India and Pakistan.

After exploring it for a bit, we’ll make our way back to Nubra stopping along the way to admire the beautiful landscapes.

Later: we will explore the villages of Hunder and Diskit, walk around their streets and spend the evening at Nubra.
Arm yourselves with cameras as we head to Pangong Tso, the prettiest and largest lake in the Indian Himalayas.

First: we’ll journey through the Chang La pass, the third highest in the world! During the drive, you’ll notice the landscapes slowly changing, until you catch glimpses of the blue Pangong Tso!

Check in to your luxury camps along the shores, unwind and take in the beauty of your surroundings. Take a walk around the perimeter of the lake and watch as the colour of the water shifts constantly. Throw a pebble across and see how far it skims!

Later: Dinner under the Himalayan star-filled sky.
Today, we’ll return to Leh after breakfast. On the way, stop at Chang La again for a cup of good, steaming local tea and take some photos.

Then: you’ll free to spend the rest of the day in Leh. Perhaps some last minute shopping and souvenir buying for people back home?
Get ready for another action packed day.

After an early breakfast, we’ll witness the spectacular confluence point of the rivers Indus and Zanskar. Marvel as two wildly different coloured water streams merge and form one broad one.

Then: a rafting adventure! We’ll follow the path of the Zanskar to the village of Tsoksti where a rafting team awaits your arrival. Battle your wits, challenge your strength as you strap on those orange vests, helm the oars and try to best the flow of the Zanskar. It is as exhilarating as it sounds!

Then: it’s time to relax. You’ve earned your rest for the day.

In the evening: a farewell dinner with your newfound friends. Feast and celebrate new bonds, experiences and fun moments.
All good things must come to an end, alas. Today, after breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home.

Superb Choice!
