Touchdown Muscat!

You’ll be greeted by our representative at the airport.

Then, get ready for a 2 hour drive past picturesque mountainscapes as we make our way to Nizwa.

Once the capital of Oman, this ancient town is surrounded by a thick cover of palm trees and is also home to the country’s highest mountain peaks. Check into your hotel and unwind.

In the evening: it’s time to explore the  streets of Nizwa! After a refreshing cup of Omani coffee, grab a bicycle and ride across the town. (NOTE: this is an optional tour and will be at an additional cost of USD 105 per person.

Later: a gala welcome dinner at the hotel ! Tonight’s festive atmosphere is the perfect time to get to know and bond with your crew.
After breakfast, we’ll head out to explore Nizwa.

The places that we’ll visit include: the Nizwa Fort, a massive 17th century castle with a unique drum-like tower and the famous Nizwa Souk, where you can shop for some beautiful handicraft items, Omani silverware and a range of trinkets to bring back as souvenirs.
We’ll then head to Misfat Al Arbaeen, a quaint mountainous village with pretty allies, ancient mud houses on top of rocks and agricultural terraces - a glimpse of how Omani villages would have been centuries ago.

Later: time to visit Wadi Ghul (a.k.a. the Grand Canyon of Arabia)! We’ll drive up to Jebel Shams, Oman’s highest mountain peak, which provides a spectacular view of Wadi Ghul, an abandoned village with deep ravines and vast, barren and rugged landscapes.

Then, we’ll explore the Al Hoota Cave. Estimated to be 2 million years old, this limestone cave is nestled between mountains and has spectacular rock formations. Keep an eye out for the cave residents- blind fish that can be found in the lake at the centre of the cave (Note: This trip depends on whether the cave is open to the public during that time period).
Today, it’s time to travel off the beaten path as we venture into the rugged region of Wadi Al Abyadh. This valley provides a contrast of terrains, with green vegetation and streams existing alongside vast dunes and desert landscapes!

You’ll be staying at the Dunes by Al Nahda, a luxury desert resort about an hour and a half drive away from Muscat. This boutique resort offers unrivalled views of the surrounding dunes and the mountains in the backdrop. You’ll be free to explore the region for the rest of the day.

Recommended: the resort also offers a range of exciting activities for free, such as dune bashing, sand surfing, camel rides and bicycle rides! So, there are plenty of options available if you’re looking to explore the desert landscapes or have some fun and adventure. You can also go on quad bike rides or settle down for a relaxing spa sessions. These activities will be at an additional cost.

In the evening: dinner at an open-air restaurant. Grab a sundowner (or a drink of your choice) as you watch the sunset in the desert dunes. We’ll stay overnight at the resort.
After breakfast, we’ll travel back to Muscat and spend most of the day exploring the capital city.

We’ll first stop outside the Royal Opera House, that houses Omani architecture at its contemporary best.  Then, we’ll drive through the beautiful coast along Qurum beach and visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum, which houses an extensive collection of traditional Omani dresses, art, ancient weapons and heirlooms spanning many centuries, including the Khanjar (a traditional dagger).

We’ll also visit the strange, yet beautiful Riyam monument. Shaped like an incense burner, this monument seems like a fascinating blend of traditional Muslim architecture with the design of  a futuristic spaceship!

Later: stop outside the Al Alam Palace - the official residence of the Sultan of Oman. The palace is flanked by two 16th century Portuguese forts (the Jalali and Mirani forts) that dominate the view in the Muscat harbour.

In the evening: we’ll end the day by walking through the vibrant streets of Muttrah Souk, which is famous for its textiles and handicraft items that are sold here. You will be free to spend some time wandering through the souk and shop for souvenirs.
After breakfast, get ready for an exciting day as we go for a coast drive!

First: it's time to meet some dolphins! Oman is famous for its marine wildlife and shoals of dolphins are known to gather along the coast in large numbers! We'll head to the Marina Bander Al Rowda, where we’ll board a boat to watch these beautiful creatures in motion.

Afterwards: we'll drive to the Bimmah sinkhole, arguably one of the most beautiful sinkholes in the world. Locals believe that it was created by a falling star (although geological proof says otherwise). But looking at the clear, turquoise blue waters, you can’t help but give in to the legend.

Up next: the gorgeous Fin's beach. With white, sandy and pebble-covered beaches, it is perfect for relaxing, away from the busy life of the cities.

Then: drive to Wadi Shab, one of the most popular wadis in Oman. Get ready for an exciting trek as we explore secluded streams filled with an explosion of colours -  turquoise waters contrasted by the rocky surroundings.
We’ll have a picnic lunch here and continue our trek across the valley.

In the evening: time for a farewell dinner, where we’ll toast to adventure, good food and new friends!
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. You’ll be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home.

Superb Choice!
